West Coast Jump Blues At Its Best
About Us
The year was 1983. On a Thursday night five guys got
together for an impromptu jam in an old movie theater in
Lower Lake California that was ready to burn down if you
would have kicked over a hot light. The magic was in the
air and a sense of the future was in the room. What
emerged from the dusty old hardwood floors that night
was Bill Noteman and the Rockets-a band that soon set a
foot hold in Lake, Sonoma, Napa and Mendocino counties
with their high energy blend of Chicago Blues and good ol time Rock and Roll known as West Coast Jump.
Within the first year they were opening shows for Elvin
Bishop, Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airman, along
with Mark Hummel and the Blues Survivors at the famous
Cotati Cabaret in Cotati California. Over the next 6
years they were regulars at the Casper Inn, Konocti
Harbor Resort and Spa and played so many shows at the
legendary Hopland Brewery they were dubbed the house
band. Over the years Bill Noteman and the Rockets
have developed into a high energy West Coast Blues Band
that has been together for a combined 29 years.
The Rockets have been burning up the stages of Northern California with a
combination of fast paced jump, smooth melodies and
their own brand of razor cutting Rockin Blues with
original members Bill Noteman, (Vocal harmonica)
Larry Platz , (Guitar) David Neft (Keyboards) Dave Falco
(Bass) and Steve DuBois (Drums).
The Rockets bring a combination of raw expressive vocals, searing
harmonica, sizzling guitar and cooking keys dipped into
a smoldering rhythm section that “Leaves you jumpin’ on
the floor beggin’ um to play one more”. Over the years
they have worked stages all throughout Northern
California playing the Blues By The River Festival in
Redding three times, the Russian River Blues Festival,
the San Jose Jazz and Blues Festival, Calistoga Blues
Festival and twice at the Cobb Mountain Blues Festival.
They have had the honor of participating in many venues
with a vast array of heavy hitters and legends including
opening a two night show for the King of the blues
Mr. BB King , also sharing stages with Tower of Power,
Steve Miller, Tommy Castro, Jimmy McCracklin, Bettie Mae Fikes,
Commander Cody, Mark Hummel, Sugar Pie DeSanto, Robben
Ford and The Ford Blues Band, JC Smith, Joanna Connor,
Delta Wires, John Nemeth, Terry Hank, Volker Striffler
Band, Chris Cotton and a continuing list of all star
Blues Bands and headliners.
Bill Noteman and the Rockets are committed to bringing
you quality entertainment, professionalism, commitment
and a high energy Blues show filled with a Good time on
Purpose as our ol friend Paul deLay would say. Bill
